On May 24, Gemadept Corporation (Gemadept) held the opening ceremony of Phase 2 of Nam Dinh Vu Port Clusters in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Zone, Hai Phong City.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\nNam Dinh Vu Port Clusters is a key port in the North within the integrated Port and Logistics Ecosystem of Gemadept Corporation (Gemadept – Stock code: GMD).<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n

\nThe port is strategically located in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Zone – the most important domestic and international cargo transportation hub in the entire Northern region. Located at the mouth of the Bach Dang River with deep draft and wide turning basin, Nam Dinh Vu port is the closest gateway to the sea compared to other ports in the area. The port is also located on the same traffic axis connecting the port chain of Gemadept in Hai Phong.<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n

The total area of \u200b\u200bthe port cluster is 65 hectares, with a designed capacity of 2 million TEUs per year in 3 phase. Owning It features 7 berths stretching 1.5 kilometers and is capable of accommodating container vessels up to 48,000 DWT. When completed, Nam Dinh Vu port cluster will be the largest and most modern river port in the North, capable of receiving the largest feeder and Intra-Asia vessels in the river port area.<\/span><\/span>“By fulfilling our commitments made with the Government and Hai Phong People's Committee, Gemadept Corporation and our partner Sao Do Group have invested in and put phase 1 of Nam Dinh Vu port cluster into operation since 2018. And today, Phase 2 of Nam Dinh Vu Port Cluster is officially put into operation", stated Mr. Do Cong Khanh, Vice CEO of Gemadept, at the ceremony.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The combined area of the 2 phases is 42 hectares with 880 meters of berths, and a capacity of 1.2 million TEUs per year.  in comprehensive infrastructure, equipment, and technology according to international standards, modern and environmentally friendly. "With a sustainable development approach, optimizing operational efficiency, Gemadept is developing the Nam Dinh Vu Port Cluster as well as other ports in Gemadept's ecosystem towards being 'Smarter & Greener'," affirmed Mr. Khanh. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Gemadept has researched and selected cooperation with leading equipment manufacturers worldwide to equip Nam Dinh Vu Port with high-performance, electrically operated, energy-saving equipment, minimizing noise, and greenhouse gas emissions into the environment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Continuing its investment and enhancing the capacity of the port and logistics ecosystem to meet market demand, Gemadept will soon deploy Phase 3 of the Nam Dinh Vu Port Cluster for operation in 2025. Upon completion of all three phases, Nam Dinh Vu Port Complex will maximize its advantages and bring outstanding value to customers and partners. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
